Transformation Tuesday: Winged Kitchen Table
This table was found at Second Chance , like a lot of the projects I do. This project took me a while to do mainly because I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do with the table. What I did know was it needed a lot of love. Stripping the layers of paint and getting the old rusted on hardware off was most of the job. Once I saw what was underneath the paint it helped me decided more of what I wanted to do. I think this table turned out better then I expected.
To get this choppy antique paint look is easy but can be time consuming. I put three layers of paint on it. You don’t have to put a super even coat on the two under layers but the top layer should be completely covered. You are also going to want to wait until each layer is completely dry before putting on the next. Once all the paint is on and dry you take some sand paper, using a power hand sander is a little easier. All you have to do is go over the space in no certain way. That will give it the choppy look.
All new hardware was put onto the table.
